PROCESS
A dimpleplasty surgery is performed on as an outpatient basis so you can get the procedure done at your surgeon’s office without going to hospital. Also there is no need to be put under general anesthesia.
Firstly, your doctor will apply a topical anesthetic such as lidocaine to the area of skin. This helps you to not experience any pain or discomfort during the surgery. It takes about 10 minutes for the anesthetic to be effective.
Then your doctor uses a small biopsy instrument to make a hole in your skin to create a dimple manually. A small amount of muscle and fat is removed to help in this creation. The area is around 2 to 3 millimeters in length.
Firstly our surgeon builds a space for the next dimple, then positions a suture (sling) from one side of the cheek muscle to the other. The sling is then tied to set the permanent dimple in place.
